Project done in Study Semester 2 | Summer 2024

The Tales of the Blue Dragon is a third-person action RPG developed in under three months as part of an academic assignment. Set in an Asian-inspired fantasy world, the game blends exploration, combat, and narrative-driven progression. Players assume the role of a warrior tasked with uncovering secrets, gathering magical items, and ultimately confronting a powerful final boss.

Gameplay includes inventory management, key collection, and puzzle-solving to unlock doors and move deeper into the storyline. Along the way, players encounter NPCs who provide guidance and lore, as well as enemies that challenge reflexes and strategic planning. The project showcases a full game loop—from introduction to conclusion—packed with tension, decision-making, and a rewarding climax.

From a technical perspective, the game supports dialogue systems, enemy AI, and boss mechanics, all wrapped in a cohesive environment reflective of East Asian aesthetics. Designed to run as a standalone executable, the build includes all major RPG elements despite its rapid development cycle.

This solo effort represents not just design and programming skill, but also strong time management, world-building, and gameplay balancing. Blue Dragon is a compact yet polished journey into fantasy RPG mechanics—serving as a proof of concept for larger game development potential.
